FAQs – Dog Walking

sdrHow does the regular service work?

I collect your dog from your own home and take them in a pet transporter van to a specially selected walking spot for exercise with up to three other dogs. Once the fun is over, all dogs are safely dropped back at their homes after a rinse and good towel down to clean muddy paws and coats. As a final part of the service all dogs are made comfortable back in their beds with fresh water ready for when their owners return. I use a mobile check in service with owners after walks to let you know how we got on – always keeping you in the know!

When can you walk my dog?

All walks take place between the hours of 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday. Owners may state if you would have a preferred time however please note my busiest times of the day are between 10am – 2pm. Out of hours and weekend walks are also available upon request. Please understand all service times are estimates only and therefore while I make every effort to arrive when advised, this cannot be guaranteed. Please allow up to 30 minutes after agreed service times.

Where will my dog be walked?

I have a number of tried and tested woods, parks and meadows to walk dogs in within my service area. We will normally visit the closest to your home (within 5 – 10 minute drive) but do try to change your dog’s routine every so often visiting a different spot.

Will you walk my dog on or off lead?

Unless on-lead walking is specially requested by the owner all dog walks are off lead provided it can be reasonably assured dogs are able to recall including in the presence of other dogs, people and wildlife. I will make every effort to ensure walking spots are safe and stimulating for your dog including being away from roads and livestock and other people and dogs when taking off lead.

What happens in wet and muddy conditions?

All walks last for the duration of the times stated and do not include pick-up and drop off time. However, during particularly wet and muddy weather it may be necessary to use some of your dogs allotted time once back home to make sure they are suitably clean and comfortable. The aim of the service provided by Kasaya is to make owners lives easier: knowing not only that their pet has had the care and exercise they need but also that they will never return home to a mucky pup mess! I will make every effort if dogs get muddy on walks to wipe paws and coats when leaving back in the house although it may not be possible to ensure dog is completely mud free. Unfortunately due to time restraints, I cannot be responsible for cleaning coats if worn.

What if I need to alter my normal walking requirements?

Your regular walking arrangements will be agreed following the successful completion of your dog’s trial period. These must be fixed and regular each week with a minimum requirement of one walk per week (unless agreed otherwise on a discretionary basis for shift workers). I am however more than happy to accommodate one-off schedule changes wherever at all possible – even if last minute!

Owners are entitled to cancel 20% of their total expected walks for the year which will be fully refunded provided notice is given before 12pm on the previous day. Additional walks may also be requested at any time however are subject to availability. Full bookings, payment and cancellation policy details are included in Kasya’s Terms and Conditions of Service (copies available to none-service users upon request).

What happens in the event of an emergency?

In the event of an emergency, every effort shall be made to contact the owner in the first instance. If this is not possible, I shall then contact the owner’s alternative contact provided. The owner accepts full liability for any loss or damage caused by your dog whilst being walked (including third party claims). The owner gives permission for Kasaya to make decisions regarding your pets health provided it is at all times acting in the best interests of the dog and on the advice of a veterinary surgeon. The owner is responsible for payment of any veterinary fees incurred by Kasaya.
